Potsdam Man Arrested On Burning, Weapons ChargesA 92 year old Potsdam man was arrested Monday after he allegedly tried to stop firefighters who were attempting to put out a fire he started on his property. St. Lawrence County sheriff deputies say Donald Jackman set fire to a dilapidated building he owned, violating the state's open burning ban. While investigating, deputies say they found four rifles and a shotgun in his home, which are illegal for him to own because of a prior conviction. Jackson was charged with violating the open burn ban and with fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was issued tickets and released to appear in Potsdam town court at a a later date. |
