Potsdam Man Going To Prison For Raping Girl

A Potsdam man, who could have faced a maximum of 95 years behind bars for raping a teenage girl at gunpoint, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison as part of a plea bargain with prosecutors.

Gregory Brown Jr. of 509 Racquette Road admitted having sexual contact with a 15 year old girl on numerous occasions from August to October 2011.

During the encounters, Brown displayed a gun.

The 27 year old defendant had been indicted on several sex-related charges by a grand jury last March.

He pleaded guilty to felony charges of third-degree rape and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon as part of the plea deal with prosecutors.
