Potsdam School Voters Approve $18M Project

Voters in the Potsdam Central School District approved an $18 million dollar capital projects plan that focuses on repairs and upgrades to three of the school campus buildings.

The vote was 365 to 95.
Voter turnout wasn't very heavy throughout the day as district taxpayers cast their ballots Wednesday.

There will be no cost to taxpayers as most of the work will be covered by state aid.

The project includes more than  $10 million on improvements to the high school, including auditorium renovations, window upgrades and deteriorating concrete exteriors.

Upgrades to the middle school total $3 million and include reconstruction of the loading dock, rear parking lot and roof repairs while the Lawrence Avenue Elementary School will see $3 million in roof replacement work, new carpeting and new food service equipment.
