Power Problem Shuts Down Florelle Plant, 12 Laid Off
A dozen full-time workers have been temporarily laid off at the Florelle Tissue plant in Brownville.
According to company President Harry Minas, an electrical transformer blew Friday night, which means there's no power to run the plant's papermaking machines.
Minas said he's trying to come up with the $60,000 needed to repair the transformer.
He said he hopes to bring all of the employees back to work in three to four weeks.
A couple of workers might be asked back as soon as next week, Minas said.
