Prosecutor Probes Bribery Allegations As Robbery Suspect Pleads Guilty
St. Lawrence County District Attorney Nicole Duve is investigating allegations that a witness was being bribed in the robbery trial of 28 year old Travis Howe of Ogdensburg.
Howe admitted to taking part in a March 2011 robbery at the Twin Bridges convenience store at 40 Main Street in Ogdensburg.
Howe told the court he was a lookout for Michael Wells, who was convicted of second degree robbery.
Wells had written letters to a local newspaper claiming he had lied to a grand jury about Howe's involvement in the robbery.
Duve declined to comment on the evidence or name the witness because "the investigation is ongoing."
