Quick Response Limits Clayton Fire Damage

Emergency officials say a quick response kept a fire in Clayton from getting out of control Sunday.

Flames broke out around 5 p.m. in a building on Jane Street owned by Heather Bearman.
There are two apartments in that building.
According to Clayton firefighter and town Supervisor Justin Taylor, fire alarms went off, neighbors responded with fire extinguishers and three departments were quickly on-scene.
Damage was limited to around the rear door.
No one was hurt and the cause is under investigation.
