Rain Launches Campaign For St. Lawrence County D.A.

The race for St. Lawrence County District Attorney is off to a lively start as former county Public Defender Mary Rain launched her campaign Tuesday to unseat Nicole Duve.
 
Rain, a Republican, is a former police officer and assistant district attorney in Oswego and Jefferson counties.

She's now in private practice in Ogdensburg.

Rain says she hopes to be able to put those years of experience to work in the courtroom if elected as the county's top prosecutor.

"I have a fabulous record as a prosecutor. I have a great record as a defense attorney, which means I'm prepared when I go into court. My opponent's record is not the best," said Rain.
 
Meanwhile, Duve says she plans to formally announce her plans to seek a third term in the near future.
