Raising Green With Green Hair Extensions

Tools

St. Patrick's Day is still a month off, but Watertown is already going green.

You'll start seeing green hair extensions around town.

For a third year, A New Attitude Salon & Spa on Coffeen Street will give your locks a splash of green.

The green you provide in return, $10, goes to help bring children from Northern Ireland to the north country for a summer visit.

"It shows you're in support of the Irish Festival and you gave a donation, which is great. We appreciate all of that," said Patti Shaughnessy, a member of the Irish Fest committee.

The salon is also coloring hair with green chalk, which washes out.

That's in return for a $5 donation.

The green hair is being offered from now right through the North Country Goes Green Irish Festival in mid-March.
