Ready For Zombies? If So, You're Probably Ready For Disaster

If zombies attacked, would you be ready?

A group of local military kids say they will be and it's because of a catastrophe preparedness class held Saturday at the Veterans Outreach Center in Watertown.

The American Red Cross organized the zombie-apocalypse-themed class.

The idea is to teach kids how to be prepared for any disaster -- such as an earthquake or terrorist attack -- because if they're ready to take on zombies, they can handle anything.

"It's a really great spin on being prepared," said the Red Cross's Shawna Rich.

"So, hopefully, they take it home and they're going to be telling their parents all about zombies and how cool they are and they'll want to be prepared."

"I'm enjoying this a lot," class participant Brecken Feldman said. "It's really fun."

"I'm glad that I can work together with other kids and I get to meet new friends," he said.

The kids even had zombie-themed snacks.
