Redwood Man Accused Of Sexual Abuse

Bail was set at $5,000 for a Redwood man facing a felony charge of first-degree sexual abuse.

State police arrested 23 year old John Demeurers Jr.

He allegedly had inappropriate contact with a 19 year old female at his residence on August 1.

State police allege the woman was incapable of giving consent because she was considered physically helpless, but troopers would not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Demeurers was arraigned in Alexandria Town Court last Friday and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building Jail.
