Ritchie Urges Education Commissioner To Hear North Country Concerns

Tools

State Senator Patty Ritchie is asking New York's education commissioner to come to the north country to hear local residents' concerns about the new "Common Core" curriculum.

Ritchie (R. - 48th District) sent a letter this week to Commissioner John King Jr.

She said three out of four people who responded to her school survey expressed concern about the new education standards.

Ritchie also said she was disappointed King had no plans to hold a community meeting in the counties she represents, Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Oswego.

She urged King to set up a meeting in northern or central New York.
