Rothschild, Watertown Native, Admits To Child Porn Charge
Watertown native and well known Syracuse lawyer Martin J. Rothschild will spend at least three years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to a charge of promoting a sexual performance by a child.
Rothschild appeared in Onondaga County Court in Syracuse to plead guilty only weeks after the February raid of his home and office, in which police seized computer equipment.
Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick said at least 30 images of child pornography were on Rothschild's computers and his sentence would have been more severe had he not pleaded guilty Thursday, according to 9wsyr.com, the web site of Syracuse television station WSYR.
Rothschild will be sentenced in June and faces a minimum of three and a maximum of seven years in prison.
Rothschild is a 1971 graduate of Watertown high school.
