Part of Route 126 east of Watertown was shut down for a couple of hours because of a serious two-car accident Saturday afternoon.
Fire officials say a truck heading west drifted into the opposite lane, striking a car at the top of the State Street hill.
Guard rails prevented the truck from falling down an embankment.
Crews had to use the jaws of life to rescue two people trapped.
In total, four people were sent to Samaritan Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions were not immediately available.
