SUNY Canton Welcomes Third Presidential Candidate

The third of five candidates interviewing for SUNY Canton president says he was attracted to the campus because of the college's emphasis on student success, its commitment to diversity and to military veterans.

Dr. Christopher Reber has 33 years experience in higher education leadership and is currently the executive dean at Venango College of Clarion University in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

Reber told members of the campus community he would like to expand on the college's Criminal Justice, Nursing, Engineering and Sustainability programs if he is chosen to lead the college.

He says he would be what he described as "a servant's president."

"My own leadership style is to be a champion for the contributions of all members of the community," said Reber.

Reber says he also has experience in capital campaigns and engaging community support for raising millions of dollars for scholarships and programming endowments.
