Samaritan Honors Long-Time Physician

Members of the Watertown community said "thank you" Thursday night to a physician who's been taking care of people for over 45 years.

Dr. David Van Eenenaam was given the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award at Samaritan Medical Center's physician recognition dinner at the Black River Valley Club.

Van Eenenaam retired in 2011, but not before serving as one of the area's top orthopedic surgeons, a career that's given him a lot to be proud of.

"Perhaps the most significant thing is the growth of our medical practice and the growth of the medical community here in Watertown," he said. "We now have, I think, one of the finest physical structures for a town this size anywhere."

Over 200 people attended the dinner.
