Saturday: Detectives Probe Shots Fired In LeRay

Tools

Jefferson County Sheriff's detectives are investigating shots fired near Patricia Drive and Twin Oaks Drive in the Town of LeRay late Friday night.

In a statement Saturday, detectives said several rounds were fired at a "business sign" at 10:45 pm Friday, and "two of which passed through the sign and struck an occupied residence, with one round penetrating a wall and coming to rest inside."

The sign belonged to Davidson's Motel. The bullets hit a home behind the motel.

"The shooting likely occured from a moving vehicle," the release notes.

Presumably no one was injured, since the release makes no mention of a bullet striking anyone.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's department at 788-1441 and reference file #13S002881 or submit an anonymous tip here.
