Home 'Demolished' When Car Drives Through ItA home in old Dekalb was 'demolished' late Friday night when a car drove through it, St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies said. Even though a mother and daughter were home, they weren't hurt. Deputies said Bryan J. Moore, 38, of Ogdensburg, was on county route 17 and didn't stop at the stop sign, at the intersection of 17 and route 812. Deputies said Moore's vehicle went through the intersection and into a house on the other side, where a pregnant 29 year old woman and her four year old daughter were asleep in a downstairs bedroom. Somehow, the vehicle missed them. It went through the living room and 'partially through the back wall of the house,' according to a press release from the sheriff's department. There was no one home upstairs. 'Both the house and the vehicle were demolished,' the press release notes. Moore was issued tickets for driving while intoxicated - with a 0.11 blood alcohol content - and failure to stop for a stop sign. The accident happened just before midnight. |
