Bryant G. Jones was trying to hit the racoon he spotted, that much is clear.

But Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies said Jones managed to shoot something else with pellets from a shotgun - a house.

Jones, who is 23 and lists his residence as 4th Armor Division Road, Fort Drum, was charged early Saturday with reckless endangerment, second degree, and prohibited use of a firearm, both misdemeanors.

Deputies said Jones was riding on Michaels Road in the Town of Adams a little after 11 Friday night when he saw the animal. According to the paperwork they issued, he fired a 12 guage shotgun three or four times "and some of the shotgun pellets did strike a residence at 17529 Michaels Road where people were home inside the residence."

Jones was issued tickets, told to come back to court later this month.
