A Fort Drum man was rescued early Saturday after falling over a cliff in Sackets Harbor.

Lane Reeder, 24, fell behind General Smith Drive and Pike Street, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Firefighter and off duty deputy Travis Alcombrack used his "personally owned vessel" to quickly locate Reeder, huddled in some rocks on the edge of the water.

Reeder was treated for mild hypothermia at Samaritan Medical Center.

The sheriff's department, Jefferson County STAR team, Sackets Harbor Rescue Squad, Guilfoyle Ambulance and Sackets Harbor fire and police departments all responded to the emergency.
