Saturday: Woman Charged In Sorority Theft
An Ithaca woman was charged Friday with stealing from a Potsdam sorority.
Clarisa K. Evenden, 22, was charged with grand larceny, third degree. She appeared in court and was released without having to post bail, to reappear at a later date.
According to a note from Potsdam police Saturday, Evenden was arrested after a"lengthy investigation." Evenden was the former treasurer of Alpha Delta Kappa - and made out checks to herself and "also made several online transactions," according to the statement.
The thefts took place between late 2011 and early this year, police said.
Evenden was arrested with the help of Ithaca police.
