Saving The Presidents

The Jefferson County Historical Society is hoping to save history one piece at a time.

A large painting of Abraham Lincoln and five historical documents signed by some of our founding fathers are well over 100 years old and falling apart.

The historical society wants to restore them.

It has launched a "Save The Presidents" campaign to raise the thousands of dollars needed for the restoration.

"This shows the connection with the presidents and with all those significant parts of history that we read in text books but we can now see that we've been part of it as well," said Bill Wood of the historical society.

It's going to cost around $2,000 to restore a single document.
