Savory Expected To Handle Concessions At Privateers Games

Watertown City Council will vote Monday night on a deal that would have the business "Savory" handle all food and drink concessions at Privateers games.

The move will put the city in compliance with the state Liquor Authority. 

Right now, Savory only sells alcoholic beverages at the hockey games, while the city sells food. 

The deal has Savory paying the Privateers for the rights to sell food at each hockey game.

The team will then turn around and give the city about $300 per game in compensation.

"The city was averaging around $530 per game, so it's just a way for us to compromise with the Privateers and Savory to be able to offer the hockey games in Watertown for the rest of the season," said Parks & Recreation Superintendent Erin Gardner.

The city will still sell the concessions for all other events at the ice arena.
