State police divers resumed the search Wednesday morning for a missing snowmobiler who is presumed drowned after he broke through the ice on the Grasse River near Massena.
Searchers were forced to suspend search operations Tuesday afternoon due to unsafe ice conditions.
Authorities are not releasing his name, but say the victim broke through thin ice on the river channel, not far from the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation tugboat dock near Snell Lock.
A four- by eight-foot hole was found in the ice by searchers Monday night with a single glove and cellphone nearby.
An underwater camera is being used to assist divers in their search.
