Sheriff's Department K-9, Deputy Bullet, Dies

His name was Deputy Bullet and he battled crime with his comrades at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department for almost his entire life.

Deputy Bullet, the department's senior patrol K-9, died from natural causes.

He was nine years old and served with the sheriff's department for eight years.

The dog, handled by Deputy Paul Trudeau, had been involved in sniffing out drugs like crack cocaine and heroin.

Bullet was also used to track people who were missing.

Deputies will wear black mourning bands over their badges this weekend in memory of Bullet.
