Shoplifting Attempt Leads To Robbery Charges

A Watertown woman faces robbery charges for allegedly taking merchandise from Watertown's Kmart store by force.

Jefferson County sheriff deputies say 21 year old Nichole Bell and an accomplice attempted to shoplift merchandise from the department store when they were confronted by a store employee.

Police say the employee was injured when Bell and the other person forcibly took the merchandise.

Bell was charged with two counts of second degree robbery and one count of petit larceny.

She was arraigned in town of Watertown court and committed to county jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

The accomplice has not been charged.
