Shoppers Search For Bargains At Early Black Friday Sales
Black Friday is generally regarded as the start of the holiday shopping season.
This year it got into full swing a day early with some major retailers opening on Thanksgiving.
Lines stretched across the front of the building at Best Buy in Watertown's Salmon Run Mall when it opened at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The frigid air didn't seem to bother customers who were hoping to snag great deals and get a jump on their Christmas shopping.
Even some of our neighbors to the north came down to reap the Black Friday benefits.
"I'm from Kingston, Ontario, Canada," Stuart Hill said, "and just coming down for the Thanksgiving deals and shopping, finding the best deals that I can."
Some shoppers had other reasons.
"Just moved here from California," Shelby Burton said, "so I'm still wearing my California clothes, I'm still wearing my flip-flops with socks. So, my husband said I need snow boots."
Those who couldn't get out shopping Thursday can expect to find bargains on Friday, as well.
