Smith Sentenced To 90 Days For Stealing From Town

Susan Smith WWNY

Former Pitcairn Supervisor Susan Smith was led away in tears after she was sentenced to 90 days in jail for stealing thousands of dollars from town coffers.

Smith appeared in St. Lawrence County Court Thursday morning for sentencing on third degree grand larceny.

She made no apologies, but broke down crying as the judge imposed the sentence.
She also was placed on five years' probation.
Smith was overheard saying "no, no" as she was handcuffed by court officers and led from the courtroom in tears, sobbing visibly.
Smith paid the town $35,622 in restitution at the time of her sentencing, including a $1,000 insurance deductible.
