Snow, Wind & Cold Make For Rough Day In North Country

Tools

Be glad you're not along the East Coast, but the weather here in the north country is plenty bad enough in places.

In Ogdensburg and Lisbon, up to 11 inches of snow was forecast during the day Friday.

Virtually all schools in the north country either cancelled classes or sent students home.

More snow was expected to fall during the night.

While some people grabbed their shovels and spent the day digging out, drivers found themselves dealing with poor visibility from blowing and drifting snow.

Temperatures dipped into the single digits in some spots and winds gusted to 20 to 25 miles per hour.

Not only did the wind reduce visibility on the roads, it also but dropped wind chills well below zero.
