South Lewis Teacher Reinstated

The South Lewis Board of Education has voted unanimously reinstate a teacher who was put on administrative leave following allegations he forcibly touched two males.

Lowville village police alleged Arthur McCall  touched a 17 year old and a 26 year old on August 25, 2012 at his Dayan Street home.

He was charged with two counts of forcible touching.

McCall was placed on administrative leave while district officials reviewed the situation.

Now that he has been reinstated, McCall is eligible to return to his teaching duties on January 28.

His court case was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal.

McCall was the high school band teacher at South Lewis.

He was also a boys' swim coach at Beaver River Central, but was terminated for issues unrelated to his arrest.
