St. Lawrence County Man Allegedly Steals Several Tons Of Metal

A Madrid man was charged with grand larceny after he allegedly stole several tons of metal from a St. Lawrence County business.

Sheriff's deputies say 37 year old Alex Amyot stole several tons of railroad plates, conversion  bars and other assorted railroad metals from a Norwood-area business sometime last August.

Deputies say Amyot fled to Florida, where he was caught and extradited to New York.

He was charged with third degree grand larceny and was arraigned in Norfolk town court, where bail was set at $15,000.
