An Ogdensburg man is accused of welfare fraud after he allegedly received nearly $3,000 in public assistance he wasn't entitled to.

St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies say 38 year old Jason Gilmour failed to report income to the Department of Social Services.

Deputies say he received over $1,500 in temporary assistance benefits from December 2009 to February 2010 he wasn't entitled to and nearly $1,5000 in food stamps from April 2011 to August 2011.

Gilmour was charged with two counts of fourth degree welfare fraud.
