State Police: Click It Or Ticket

With Memorial Day weekend approaching, state police say it's 'Click It Or Ticket.'

Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced a 2 week campaign to crack down on drivers and passengers who don't wear their seatbelts.

The program is called "Buckle Up New York" and started Monday.

Police say avoiding a ticket is simple.

"Hook up your seatbelt. That's what it comes down to. The message isn't any different during any one of these campaigns," said Sergeant Robert Allen of the state police.

Drivers and passengers caught not wearing their seatbelts may be fined up to $50.
