Stolen Memorial Returned

There's good news to report from the Jefferson County hamlet of Omar.

The Fallen Soldiers Memorial, which was stolen, has been mysteriously returned to the man who created it.

Tim Hall tells us the helmet, replica gun, boots and dog tags which were discovered missing on New Year's Day, were recently left by his door.

Hall says he plans to reassemble the memorial sometime in the next few days.

Hall wanted to thank the public for all the tips, kind words and donations he received after the memorial was stolen.

While the memorial was dedicated to soldiers, the statue had even more meaning for Hall.

Hall said the last picture taken of his 17 year old daughter before she died was of her with the gun and helmet.

"These items meant the world to us. It's good to see there is still some good in this world," Hall said.
