Student Art Celebrates King Legacy

At Midtown Towers in Watertown, there's a sign on the wall which reads "Experience The Magic Of Art."

Under the sign are original works by kindergarten students from Ohio Elementary School.

Each piece of art depicts Martin Luther King Jr.

On the bottom of the artwork, students wrote their dreams based on King's famous "I Have A Dream Speech."

A boy named Anthony has a dream "that everybody is nice."

Another picture by a girl named Isabella said she has a dream that "people will help clean up the garbage."

The school principal put up the pictures on Monday, which was Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

"It's something that's really simple, that doesn't take really any money. It just takes a little time and I know the residents appreciate it," said Principal Mark Taylor.

"It boosts your spirits every morning," said Midtown Towers resident Brenda Harmych.

Taylor credits art teacher Michelle Davidson for helping with most of the art projects in the past.
