The city of Rochester received an interesting letter from the U.S. Olympic Committee -- asking the city if it was interested in hosting the summer games in 2024.
The committee is putting together its bid for the games and sent letters to 35 cities to see if there's interest in submitting a bid.
The requirements listed in the letter include having 45,000 hotel rooms available for the games.
Rochester officials say they're flattered, but at this time city finances are in no position to build facilities or book the thousands of hotel rooms that would be needed.
It will cost an estimated $10 million just to put a bid together.
