Man Dies in Croghan Accident

A man was killed in the town of Croghan early Sunday morning, after the car he was driving exited the roadway and collided with a culvert.

According to a press release by the Lewis County Sheriff's Department, Joel Moser, 37, of Wilmington, North Carolina, drove his car off the left side of State Route 126.  Moser was driving a 2003 Mercedes east on route 126.

Deputies say the car Moser was driving traveled 735 feet off the roadway before hitting a culvert.  From there, deputies say the car was launched into the air and airborne for 245 feet before coming to rest on its top.

Moser was pronounced dead on scene.
