Thousands of teachers from across the state including a large group from right here in the North Country rallied in Albany Saturday.
Roughly 15,000 people in all made the trip. It was the "One Voice United" rally organized by teachers, administrators, and parents fed up with new strict state standards. Those standards are actually tied into a nationwide effort to raise student performance. Some teachers say things have gone too far and they hope their rally cries will be heard by lawmakers.
