Feedback: Teen Charged With Attempted Murder In Indian River Gun Incident
A 15 year old Indian River Central School student was charged with attempted murder in connection with a gun incident at the school in January.
"That is a specified offense that an individual can be charged as a juvenile offender and that case goes through the adult court system," said District Attorney Cindy Intschert.
Whom the boy was allegedly trying to kill is not being released, but it's believed to be one other person, said Intschert.
The teen was ordered held without bail following arraignment in county court.
"It's my understanding that the juvenile is currently at an appropriate medical facility receiving medical and psychological evaluation and treatment," said Intschert.
The incident happened January 15 when the high school student took a rifle to class. When he opened the case the rifle was in, a teacher, Bob Kuba, grabbed the rifle and called for help.
Undersheriff Paul Trudeau told us the gun was loaded when it was seized and was part of a violent plan.
