You could be forgiven for wondering what's happened to spring.

7 News weathercaster John Kubis reports Monday night's weather will be winter-like, with three to five inches of lake effect snow forecast for southern Lewis County, and a couple of inches in southern Jefferson County.

The snow forecast starts at 8 pm, and runs through noon Tuesday.

And cold? Yes, it will be cold. Look for a low Monday night in the mid-teens and a high Tuesday of no more than 35, which is 10 to 15 degrees colder than normal.

Making matters worse tonight, it will be windy, making it feel even colder.

The weather fights its way back to something like spring by week's end, with daily highs forecast for the mid to upper 40s.
