Three Injured Sunday In Potsdam Accident

Three people were injured in a two-car accident near Potsdam Sunday evening.

State police say a car driven by 21 year old Samuel Thayer of Potsdam was traveling north on the Back Hannawa Road when he lost control on slippery pavement and crossed into the other lane.

Thayer's car was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by 16 year old Hannah Jeror of St. Regis Falls.

Both drivers, plus a passenger in Jeror's vehicle, were taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment of what police describe as non-life-threatening injuries.

They say Thayer's injuries were the most serious because his leg was pinned in the wreckage and he had to be extricated by the Potsdam Fire Department.
