Three People Rescued from Black River

Three kids had to be pulled from the Black River in Watertown Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. in the area of river between Maggie's and West Main Street.

A fire official on the scene tells 7 News the young people had been swimming in the water when they apparently went into distress.

Someone nearby heard their cries for help and called 9-1-1.

When emergency crews arrived, the swimmers were found clinging to rocks along the shore.

They were removed from the water without incident.
