Thrift Shop Seeks Donations To Stay In Business

They may be moving out, but they're not moving on just yet.

Just two weeks after a well known thrift shop in Adams lost its eviction battle, the employees are fighting to keep their business going.

Employees of Hearthstone Ministries say they are preparing for the Festival of Jubilee.

The celebration at their Church Street building will feature games, prizes and food.

It's all to raise money to buy a new building.

In April, the owners were given an eviction notice and say they were given no explanation.

The owners have been raising money to purchase the building ever since.

But at an eviction hearing in late July, the owners were told they had until the end of August to get out.

Employees say since then they have had a lot of support.

"The absolute, wonderful community has done so much," said Rebecca Cabrera, assistant manager.

If you want to help Hearthstone Ministries, you can go to Northern Federal Credit Union and ask to donate to "the Casual for a Cause for the Month of August."

During this month, Northern Federal will match each donation dollar for dollar for the first $250 and after that two dollars for every dollar donated.
