Thursday: Competition In Clayton For Hotel Site
There's now competition for a developer who wants to build a luxury hotel in Clayton.
Clayton Associates is in competition with Krog Corporation, a Buffalo company that proposed a luxury hotel on the Frink site - one costing $20 million, with 104 rooms.
Town supervisor Justin Taylor said Clayton Associates is made up of about a dozen Clayton residents, though the group itself refused Thursday to release details about the project or the names of its members.
"Frankly, I don't think there is any real competition here. We can only focus on what we need to do and we're really good at building and operating hotels," said Paul Neureuter.
"They have a strong building and design representative and I think they have a strong hotel and residential component," he said.
