An accident during a motorcycle stunt show at the Gouverneur and St. Lawrence County Fair Thursday night sent six spectators to the hospital, officials said.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department said the accident happened at 8:40 p.m. during the "Wall of Death" motorcycle show.

Deputies said the the motorcyclist, 37 year old Sampie Noakes, was performing his show when his bike climbed too high on the wall and the foot board of the motorcyle caught the cable at the top of the wall.

The driver suffered a leg injury, investigators say. The spectators -- Jeffrey Gibson, Kaitlyn Gibson, Sean Devlin, Alexis Devlin, Keith Walrath and June Walrath -- were all residents of the Gouverneur area. They suffered cuts and possible broken bones.

(7 News obtained the names from the sheriff's department. Late Friday afternoon, a witness to the accident told us Sean Devlin was not injured, but Steve Miller Sr. was hurt. The witness said he was treated at Gouvneur Hospital and released.  7 News was unable to reach officials at the sheriff's department to confirm this new information.)

"I seen him come flying out of the top there and he hit the trailer," Kevin Manning, an eye witness, said.

"I heard a big bang," Trevor Law said. "And he came flying out the side and I heard people screaming up there."

The motorcyle exited the arena and landed in the crowd, injuring six spectators, deputies said.

Officials said Noakes was thrown out of the arena to the ground.

"I was hearing crying upstairs," Manning said.

All of the injured were taken to Gouverneur Hospital.

Friday afternoon, the hospital said Noakes was admitted and was in stable condition.

A spokesperson said four others were treated for their injuries and released. The spokesperson didn't know the names of the people who were released.

June Walrath was in stable condition at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, according to officials at that facility.

Deputies said their investigation is complete.
