About 100 bicyclists dedicated a tree Wednesday behind the Jefferson County Historical Society.
They're taking part in the Tour des Trees, a week-long, 585 mile bike ride around Lake Ontario.
It's a good opportunity to not only bike, but to appreciate the environment.
"The ride has just been wonderful," Robert Jones said. "The scenery's unbelievable, the lakes, the Amish country's unbelievable -- to see those people, how they work."
"I think it's just a great way to continue our research, figure out the best way to prune trees and maintain their health," Duane Dickinson said.
The Tour des Trees benefits the Tree Research and Education Endowment (TREE) Fund, which helps educate children about trees and urban growth.
The bicyclists headed off to Kingston, Ontario.
