Two dogs barking led rescuers to find a 75 year old woman who spent the night in the woods in Lewis County.

Lewis County Undersheriff James Monnat told 7 News Tuesday evening that rescuers located Stacia Ward-Johnson early Tuesday afternoon in woods in the Town of Greig.

Ward-Johnson had two dogs with her, and the barking of the dogs led rescuers to her, Monnat said.

She ended up in the woods overnight after her vehicle got stuck in the woods Monday evening, and she then fell trying to walk back to her camp off Salsburg Road, Monnat said.

Ward-Johnson was taken to a Utica hospital for treatment, Monnat said.

Monnat said Ward-Johnson is from North Carolina.
