Tuesday: SLC Driver Pinned In Car

A Potsdam man was pinned in his car Tuesday, after an accident on May Road just outside the village.

Nathan Carey, 17, suffered head and neck injuries.

After about 20 minutes, rescue crews freed Carey using 'the jaws of life' tool.

The accident happened not far from Carey's home, at 578A May Road. State police said Carey lost control of his car and went off the road, hitting two trees.

Carey was being treated for head and neck injuries Tuesday afternoon at Canton-Potsdam hospital.

The accident happened at 11:30 a.m., police said.

Carey was ticketed for unreasonable speed.
