Two people were charged with drug possession following an early afternoon raid Tuesday at a Watertown apartment.

Investigators with the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force say they executed a search warrant at an upstairs apartment at 522 Waite Avenue.

Police say 34 year old Jermele Halstion of Syracuse and 26 year old Paige Johnson of Waite Avenue were each charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police say they found 64 bags of heroin, 23 knotted wraps of crack cocaine, 4.4 grams of unwrapped crack and nearly $2,000 in cash.

Investigators say the drugs have a street value of $4,340.

Halstion and Johnson were arraigned in Watertown city court and sent to Jefferson County jail without bail.
