Two Charged In Potsdam Robbery

Potsdam police charged two men Tuesday with jumping a man and stealing his wallet.

Police said the robbery took place on November 13, a little before 4 a.m. in the parking lot of a convenience store. Police did not identify the store.

The victim paid for items in the store, and was seen to have 'a large amount of money,' police said in a statement Wednesday.

Kyle Neuroth, 21, of Potsdam, was working in the store and was charged with conspiracy, 4th degree.

A second man, Ronald L. Freeman, 24, of Massena, was charged with robbery, 2nd degree, and conspiracy, 4th degree.

Both men were held on $10,000 bail.

Police said Neuroth and Freeman and a third person discussed how to rob the man.

The third person then 'jumped the victim, taking him to the ground, while Freeman took his wallet.'

The third person has been identified and 'a further arrest is expected,' police said.

The police report did not specify how much the victim was injured, if at all.

 

 

 

 

At 3:58 am November 13, 2011, the Potsdam Police Department received a report of a robbery that occurred in a parking lot at a convenience store in the Village of Potsdam.   The subsequent investigation led to the identification of the defendants.  The victim was observed paying for items in the convenience store and was observed with a large sum of money.  After the victim left the store the defendants along with another accomplice discussed how to rob the subject with the robbery taking place moments later in the parking lot of the store.  The 3rd accomplice jumped the victim taking him to the ground while Freeman took his wallet.  Neuroth was employed by the store and was working at the time of the theft.     Both subjects were arraigned in Village of Potsdam Court in front of Justice Pignone and remanded to the Saint Lawrence County Correction Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond.  The third party involved has been identified and a further arrest is expected.
