Vacant House On Mercy Demo Site Coming Down Soon

As Watertown's Mercy complex is torn down, some passersby are wondering why an eyesore is still standing.

A long-vacant house fronting South Massey Street is part of the Mercy site and it's still up, even as nearby buildings have been demolished.

But COR Development, which is charge of the project, says it won't be there for long.

The house will be demolished, probably in about a month.

"They just needed to build some room and make some staging so they could move around a little bit over there," said project manager Mark Pelletier of COR Development.

A lot of people are also wondering what will become of the huge piles of rubble from the demolition.

The answer is - it's all being ground up and will be used for fill on the same site.
